Mr. Sundt holds a B.A. and a J.D from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  Licensed in Arizona and Texas, he is a business attorney, often representing clients contending with construction, procurement, regulatory compliance and most recently, privacy issues.    He has a broad background in business and law.  Prior to starting his own practice, he spent the last four years as a partner in a local Tucson firm, after having spent the six prior years working with a private equity group investing in Arizona real estate.  Before working in private equity, he spent thirteen with the Sundt Companies, a national building firm which grew out of the Planing Mill and Building business founded by his great grandfather in 1890.   At Sundt, he served four years managing the growth of its Southern Arizona Profit Center, and nine years as its Senior Counsel.  As Senior Counsel his work alternated between general commercial and litigation matters, primarily within the Southwestern United States and the Pacific region, including Diego Garcia, Guam, Hawaii and the Philippines.  Prior to joining Sundt, he began his practice at Snell & Wilmer. He currently holds an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory and has been ranked in the past by Best Lawyers in America as one of country’s best construction lawyers.   

 

Active in public and community service throughout his career, he is a Flinn Brown Fellow and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Arizona Housing Finance Authority.  He is a member of Arizona Town Hall and an Arizona Zanjeros Ambassador.  Locally, he serves on the Pima County Bond Advisory Committee, is a member of DM50 and is a Paul Harris Fellow with Casas Adobes Rotary.   He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, the Advisory Board of the Southern Arizona Nature Conservancy and national Vice President of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Inc.
